Default Question: Griffen Radiators?

I just has a Griffen Custom Made radiator installed in my 1992 Auto Vette this week. I had ordered a H/D 1" tube radiator that according to Griffen was a direct bolt in for my old, dirty, plugged radiator. Well about 4 hours later and a lot of cutting on the shroud it got inatalled. The Auto trans holes were lower then the stock radiator, so I had to cut more of the shroud out to fit the lines. On my way home, the vette, which use to run at about 180-185 degrees, even with the old clogged radiator now runs about 185-190 degrees. As soon as the second fan comes on, 192 degrees the temp drops to about 182 degrees. I also had a new condenser installed at the same time. Trans cooler, (B&M) in front of condenser on drivers side.

Anyone had this problem with a Griffen?

Default Re: Question: Griffen Radiators? (Danah92LT-1)

I have a Griffen in my car (see my sig for details), I run cooler now, my temp never exceeds 192 and hovers at 185, I have a Mr. Gasket 185 thermostat and a 185 fan sensor and no aux fan. I don't have a condenser in there but do have a add-on oil cooler in front of it. Takes my oil a while to come up to temp at idle now. The temp range you stated seems OK to me, don't know why it would not be cooler though.
