Re: Removing the seats from a 92 question (Kevin McGrade)
Yep, and a wire connector on the underside. Move the seat all the way forward, remove the back nuts, move the seat back, remove the front nuts, tip the seat up, unplug the connector, and pull the seat out.
Re: Removing the seats from a 92 question (NoWorries)
Holy crap those bolts are tight!!! they appear to be 1/2" but they are way to tight to losen with a wrench and the studs are sticking out way to high to get a rachet on....
Any suggestions and why are they so friggin tight? I cut my finger good trying. :mad
I used a deep well socket and a LONG (18") extension.
Warning - there is another connector that is kinda buried under the seat... it is a 2 wire connector. I don't know exactly what it powers... but is does something...
Oh, I found about 1.50 in change and a token from the Garden State Parkway.
Basically just to clean and such. The last few days have been nutty I have taken the dash off and taken care of various squeeks and rattles with velcro, Changed both headlights(sylvania cool blue) and taken both seats out.
Believe me that is a HUGE step for me, Up till i got this car i never even changed oil before :bb I have never been much of a auto repair person but I am slowly becoming more confident ;)
All done!!! Everythng went pretty well except for the gash I took out of my thumb  .
I found $2.23 in change and more importantly I found that C68 sensor cap I lost yesterday removing the dash.
Thanks everybody
PS I didn't see any other wires other than the ones to power the electric seats as noted above
do you have sport seats? the extra wires may be specific to the sport seats..
My '93 has sport seats and there are two different wire connectors under there.
I found close to $4 and a bunch of bank deposit slips, I guess one of the previous owners owned a gas station going by teh name on the slip.
Re: Removing the seats from a 92 question (Kevin McGrade)
Kevin,
I took my whole interior out when I installed my stereo system last year...there was one bolt on the passengers seat that I had to use a ratcheting wrench (Gearwrench) to get the seat out...
We're about due for another game night; I'll tell Meg to make a plan!
