I am going to do a major tune of my L98 and there was a good article about different plugs with dyno results as well. Since that posting, the website that did it has dumped the article and I didnt save the info. Normally my old iron head L98 would take a R43TS but there was another AC/D plug mentioned in the article. I dont think it was anything fancy but as far as dyno results, the numbers were right up there with much more expensive plugs. Anybody remember which plug it was or save the article?
What do you think of Autolite plugs? I'm asking because Autolite now makes AC-Delco. This came from a NAPA store manager who is pretty up on his products.
If you want the so called mystery plugs they are not cheap but readily available from a Bosch race dealer. I can point anyone to one in the NYC area the person is a friend so be real and be ready to spend the coin and not waste their time is another requirement. For the most part they are a cold plug and not generally suited for long periods of light loading so be warned there too.

I have had great luck with their regular plugs, but everyone I know has problems with their race plugs. They just don't last.

No real brand loyalty here, it was just good bang for the buck. The NGK is a little cheaper and performs well. I figure I could spend in the $3-4 range and get a decently performing plug. Anything higher is crazy to me. No way I am paying $11 per plug as this car will never see a dyno or track. I hope if Autolite has taken over AC/D's production they dont screw with the specs.
I've never had any problem with any NGK plug. Cars, motocross bikes, street bikes. Never an issue.
Horsepower TV did a back-to-back dyno comparison using a "standard" plug vs. the fairly new E3 spark plugs & found that the E3s gained 3hp or something around that amount.I installed NGKs in my vette but generally recommend installing factory recommended plugs on vehicles unless modified, then I ask people with experience in that specific engine modifing field thats done it before & know what works best
