I have a 1989 with 47,000 miles on it. I'm starting to have a problem with my right side headlight. It seems to stop opening momentarily but while it is stopped the motor continues to spin and it will catch and finish opening but the motor will continue to spin after it is fully open for a short time and shut off. It does the same thing closing and the motor will continue to spin after it is fully closed for a short time. I'm wondering if the problem is gears or bushings or a combination of both. Everyone has been a great help in the past on my injectors and replacing my computer. Hope you can help again. Thank's for your help.
It probably either the gear or the plastic pucks in the gear are bad. You'll have to take it apart to see.
Thank you for your response. Not sure if I should attempt it myself or send it to a rebuild service. All the hardware and linkage looks new so I am assuming that the problem is in the motor assembly itself.
Thank's again.

Do it yourself unless you enjoy urinating money away. The job's not worth outsourcing, IMO. Some shops charge upwards of $300 per unit to replace the motor assemblies when all you need's a set of $6 bushings.
