Default I'm rollerized

I spent the afternoon installing the used Crane 1.5 roller rockers I bought in the for sale section. Everything went well, but I thought I could leave the drip rails in place - and found out that I can't. So, I pulled it all apart again, snapped them off with a cresent wrench (MAN that's a scary sound!) then buttoned it up and took it for a road test.

It now idles smoother than it did before, it's certainly more responsive from a stand still and I got a couple of nice barks hitting 2nd at half-throttle, so that brought a big smile to my face. I didn't drive it much tonight as I'm still recovering from geting sick on my trip, but tomorrow I drive to work in Berkeley (80 miles round trip) so that should give me some quality time with the car.

I just love working on the C4 - it's so nice not having to lean over a fender and just having everything right there in front of you. I wouldn't call this job "fun" but it would have been WAY more difficult in any other car. Everything I've done so far has been a great improvement - the car just keeps getting better and better!

Awesome! I think that's going to be my next improvement on mine.

Are these for use on the stock cam only (for me thats a L98)? Are they giving some extra lift or just reducing friction or both?

Small world, I live in Berkeley. I'll be sure to have you do the roller rocker install on my C4 when I get around to it

Less friction of course, but also accurate lift. The stock stamped rockers are notorious for being "off" when it comes to ratio - and it never seems tobe to the good side.

OK, so I have the first 100 miles or so on them now and I'm REALLY pleased. The response down low and the smoothness are greatly improved and the car is MUCH smoother to drive.

The intake and everything up top is still all stock, so I didn't really expect anything of an improvement in the top end with all that restriction. The low-end and mid-range difference is certainly worth the price and the work.

Can't wait to get the Renegade on there now - MWHUHAHAHAHA
