Where did you mount it.. in front of the power steering cooler, or on the air conditioning condenser? Did you also use both the aftermarket & stock cooler like I did?

I actually mounted it on the air conditioning condensor, and yes I use both. I havent gotten a chance to AT it but it is workin fine. No leaks and it heats up well so I no its workin. Oh and the install took prolly 45 min tops.

Thanks again

Thats not fair! I put mine between the Radiator and A/C and it took at least 3.5 hours. :smash:

I really felt better about the car after I installed one, just one less thing to worry about.

Yeah 3.5 hours is a little extreme. I can understand it taking a while if you mount it in between the 2 though.

Ralph & I mounted mine IN FRONT of the AC condenser...& it took us about 2.5 hrs.. we had to cut a 2"x 8" piece out if the plastic shroud on the side of the radiator to get my hand in between the condenser & radiator... I don't know HOW you managed to mount it between them without removing the plastic radiator cover..

It dont matter as long as its working.. :)

It was a lot of work to get it between the two:

I put it there so I could do this:

It sounds like a Turbine winding up when I turn on the fans.

Also, NEVER install a cooler without installing the hose fittings first, that added at least another half hour.

Ok actually I mounted it on the first one the one on the Outside. It was much easier to access and is in the direct flow of outside air. I actually just cutt the stock hard tubing with a dremel ans then hooked the hose right up to that and then clamped it with the clamps given. I got the B&M 24000 and got it from Jegs I believe. Cost me about 50$. So far so good and there are no leaks. The highest I have gotten it was 190+ but thats because I was racing at the time.

My next step is a trans cooler and temp gauge.

There are lines for a stock cooler than run into the radiator, this makes the plumbing fairly simple.

You leave the stock line running into the top of the radiator, remove the bottom line. I lost suprisingly little fluid. They sell an adaptor that screws into the stock fitting. Then you run that line into the tranny cooler(through a hole in the shroud), run the return line into the return line to the transmission.

Its really pretty simple, the instructions give a pretty good description.

Thanks. Sounds simple. Anybody use the cooler with the built in fan?

Does anybody have a different source than VDO for a Trans Temp guage? Their's is alright, its just not that aesthetic.

Its my top guage.
