I need to adjust my throttle body and TPS on my 92. I found the volt range in the manual for the TPS, but I am not having a lot of luck finding where to set the throttle body butterflies. In the last Corvette Fever there was an article about a late 80's Vette, and it suggested opening the throttle body two turns on the bolt. Does anyone know if this is the same for a 92?
Your TPS is not adjustable on a 92. The idle screw should be under a plug on the throttle body. I would not just start screwing on it unless I had a scan tool hooked up and it was not idling right.
You actually CAN adjust the TPS on the LT1, you just have to slow the screw holes. It gives you a bit, but it gives you some. As long as you're within the prescribed .3-.8 volt range though, you're good. Not optimal, but good.
I'd concentrate on the root cause of the issue though. Assuming you're talking about an idle issue, is the IAC working properly? Is the IAC Bleed hole gunked up at all? Before playing with the throttle stop, I'd recommend taking the TB apart and giving everything a good cleaning. You can cause more issues than you want to play with by opening the blades up without carefully watching everything.
Ever since I rebuilt the engine last year, I have had problems with the engine dying when I push the clutch in after deceling in gear. I have already screwed up the butterfly adjustment, so I am curious if anyone has an idea where it should be set without a scan tool. I also installed a new IAC when the engine was rebuilt.
