Just returned from local drags with new best ET after 4 runs. Previous best was within the first week of ownership and all original with 50,000 miles. Seems like everything I have done to it made it slower (roadracing mods).
In the end, gained solid 3 mph and .23 second reduction with identical 60 ft's before and after. Not earthshattering, but an improvement for a non-Ronnie Sox shifter like myself:)
My single mass conversion worked like a champ too. Getting real good squawks in the 1-2 and 2-3 shift...:)
And I drove the 150 mile round trip getting 29 mpg on cruise with the radio on passing all the trailered cars!
Corvettes are awesome :D
By the way, what does 3 mph gain equal in HP...everything else being equal?

Sweet! Congratulations, I love feeling like I accomplished something. 3 tenths is probably around 30 hp ( the guys who really know will chime in soon I am sure.)

Sounds good, but I think there should be some more in there. I've run a 13.03 @ like 106 1.9 60' and I've run a 13.08 @ 111 2.1 60' with my latest mods. I know that if I can cut my 60' down I'll be into the 12's. You should be there as well, the MPH proves that the power is in there.
Good luck, I'll be hunting down some 12's next week. We've got the track rented out all day :)

I agree that a 12 is doable (maybe not by me:))
I ran a 13.36/13.778/13.05...basically getting better at the launch and apparently the burnout each time. Last burnout I got smoke off the Pilots by using the brakes...
I guess I could clarify...best time was 13.24 at 110-right off the used car lot.
Best time with big tires, sway bars, etc was 13.34 at 109.
My 60 foots on the best runs, before and after were 2.07.
An increase of 30 rwhp would put me at an increase over original of 47 rwhp with an exhaust and cam upgrade. I like it...13 April is goes on the dyno again to get the real skinny:)

hmm, Rich S just did headwork and a hotcam on His GS, also ran 112 trap speed(I think there is more in it). Seems to be the norm for that combo.

Your car is set-up essentially like my Dad's. Check my signature for comparison to your car. Although if your car is set-up for road racing you may never be able to get decent 60' times.
BTW, what type of dyno did you use? Not trying to be critical, but most stock LT-4's dyno at 290-300 RWHP on a dynojet. Just trying to understand why your numbers are a little lower.
And Mackey, I know who Sox and Martin are.

I know I know!
Although in my case, you'll have to refer to me as "Mr 6 Speed"! :D

I've got Ronnie Sox on film, circa 1966.
On the topic: the 112 mph trap speed indicates a low 12 second run when you can get a good 60' time. My '95 has run 12.7x's at 114 mph with drag radials and 3.45 gears. It now has 4.10 gears :) , and I am hoping for low 12's with MT ET Street slicks.
