Default A question about installing new seats

My base seats look worn, and I wanna buy some new ones at the Expo here in town. Can I get the sport seats with the controls on the side and will they clip right in? It doesn't really matter if the buttons won't work, the sport seats just hold onto you sooooo much better.

Also, Im thinking of converting from the Medium Gray to Torch Red, any thoughts?

The seat will just bolt right in if its the same year. You can also wire them up so the sport seat functions work. I love my sport seats, especially the bolster pads on the sides, they really keep you in the seat around tight turns. I'm not 100% positive but I think 90 seats will bolt into a 91 and vice versa.

Yes, as stated any seats that are designed for the year of your car will bolt right in and have full functionality when properly wired for power. I have also heard that some seats will fit groups of years...like 86-89 and so on. Unfortunately my **** is to large for sports seats

Well good luck !

Can I install the sport seat cushions into the base seat frames? Or do I need a whole new seat, frame and all?

Has anyone done a sport seat upgrade from standard seats? Do you have to run much wiring, and if so where? If it's just from the console control to the seat wouldn't be too bad, but if you have to run under the carpets to the fuse block, might be a little extra work.

Tdock,
For your 96' it is cake walk. Been there done it. At least the wiring part. I am still hunting down a passenger seat. I got a drivers seat with track on ebay for $160 or so delivered (ya I stole it). The center controller & harness ran me $150. You will need the wiring for the sport seats. It will plug into your existing harness. It *should* all be with the center control buttons. Make sure you have the wiring has an air line bundled with it. If so you are pretty safe. It just plugs right in. My car only had the power drivers seat when I started down this road. If you have any detailed questions email me directly & we can discuss it.

To all. The power track under the seats had a change over in part numbers around 87 or so. The only differnce I could find was a connector variation, so I will say the ANY of the power track (and seats) should bolt into any year C4. (provided they are C4 seats & tracks). You may have some wiring issues with the power tracks though. Also there are different PN on the seat tracks (Driver/ Passenger) but I have been unable to decern the difference. I have a driver power track under my passenger seat & it works like a dream.
