Default Magnaflow muffler question

I am considering a set of Magnaflow mufflers for my 96. Does anyone here have them on ? How do they sound and how about the deaded resonance problem? I assume the standard axle A4s and MN6 cars have the most problem with resonance vs. a perf. axle ratio A4 car.....

I have the SS magnaflows. THey look great but there is a little resonance at about 1800-2000 RPM. I have the cats removed also,so that could cause some of it.

I think the current thinking on Magnaflows are they are a great system for L98s and LT1/LT4 verts. LT1/LT4 coupes tend to have a resonance problem.

When they are used the sound is very  without being obnoxious.

Why not Corsas?

rcolling.....good question...why not Corsas......actually the Corsas are the other choice, however.....The stock piping on the Vette and the resonator are not restrictive at all, so why replace them and the Magnaflows are only $423 vs. $849 for the GP Corsas......

Hey Alex, 1st let me compliment you (or is it complement, i can never figure out the spelling to use) on your interior, torch 'n black, very nice... but I'm biased, mine's same colors! 2nd, I'm also planning on a pair of Magnaflows w/ the LT1 tips. I think they are one of the highest flowing mufflers out there that aren't way loud.

Thanks 95_C4
What's the color of your convertible top. I think white/red is a killer combo and the only CLASSIC corvette color combo (all '53s came in that color combo).....anyway, looking at the Magnaflow site, their muffler design is basically straight through with lotsa packing around the tube.....if muffler elimns are not too loud, this shouldn't be either. They are designed similar to the DynoMax mufflers......
I hope there are more people here who can voice their experiences so we get a good picture.
Does anyone know how the internals of the stock 96 resonator look like? Is it just an open chamber?? Or does it have any chambering and baffling

I have the Magna-Flows on my GMC pick-up (tow vehicle). And they sound GREAT! deep tone with little or no resonance. You can see straight thru them before they are installed!

I did opt. for Corsa on my 96 Vette, sounds great, easy on and easy off (trust me, if removed and replaced it more times than I care to think about for other repairs) but the cost is a little high.

Magna-Flow does have a good product.

Thanks NASCAR314 !!
The responses here are getting more encouraging. I was kinda worried because I remember that the MAgnaflows were more controversial in this community and many had mentioned that the resonate. I also think that resonance is more a problem with standard axle A4 and M6 cars because they cruise at low RPMs where the resonance is more pronounced. I cruise at 2,500/75mph on the interstate with the perf. axle.
