Default Need Advice On A Hood Issue

(cross-posted from C4 General, in attempt to reach the C4 Tech folks who don't go over there)

1985, very stock, original hood

I have owned this Corvette since 2004. Something is wrong with the hood setup, and the passenger side edge forward of the front wheel is abrading fairly significantly off at the edge:

This is probably at least partially being caused by the lower front cap alignment:

What do folks think? Has anybody seen this before? Is there some kind of adjustment I could make?

Closing the loop:

1) I put some white lithium grease on the two bumpers and closed the hood. When I opened it, there was some contact on the passenger side and almost no contact on the driver side. I ended up raising the driver side three full turns and the passenger side two full turns. I'm now getting solid contact on both sides.

2) The screws in the passenger side front wheel well were all the way to the outside. I took them all out and re-aligned the passenger side of the front bumper to more closely match the fit on the driver side. I put the screws back in and put some lithium grease on the hood where the abrasion is. When I closed the hood, there was no contact with the relevant part of the front bumper.

I'm going to call this issue at least temporarily fixed - I'll keep an eye on the screws and see if they move.
