Default no oil pressure on a 1987 l-98?????

just got done reinstalling the motor. there is no oil pressure? here the catch. while the motor was on the stand. it tipped over and the oil pan dented around the drain screw. i am thinking one, the pan pushed against the bottom of the pick-up. two, the pick up tub fell out from the impact. also is it true that if the distrbuter is loose, you can lose oil pressure? someone just told me that. it didn't seem likely to me.

it was not loose enough that it wasn't turning the pump. this individual said he lost oil pressure because the gasket was not sealing. maybe he ment the distributer was not meshing with the pump. mine is however.
