Help...I am losing clutch fluid somewhere....There are no visible leaks around the car. I am running almost empty every few days.
Where could it be leaking into?
There are only two places it could be coming from...The master for the clutch or the Slave under the car...It doesn't hold very much, so it wouldn't take much of a leak to empty it. You can get a rebuild or rebuild them yourself.
I cant find the leak. If it were in the master cylinder I would be able to see where the fluid in dripping onto. If it leaks at the slave cylinder it would leak onto the the catalyic converter (This happened before when the rubber hose leaked). Also there are puddles on the floor.
No leak there...I have ordered the slave cylinder kit...If the fluid is leaking into the bell housing how do I get it out? and can it do any damage inside if I don't remove the fluid?
Had same problem last summer, Clutch pedal sloppy feeling, carried a can of fluid with me, never did leak that I could see it.. Turned out to be the slave. Didn't rebuild it, replaced with new..
As I mentioned, I've never seen fluid leaks, it went somewhere for sure.. Maybe the mechanic that installed my slave drained it out.. No problems since!
