I just picked up a 94 auto to put my 96's LT4 and manual in. The engine harness in the 94 is very brittle and old looking. Is it possible to use the 96's computer and engine harness in the 94?

Yes, but I'd use the good harness and keep the 94 PCM.
OTOH, the other one will be brittle soon if it's not already, so it may not be worth the effort. GM uses crap wire.
From your other thread (it helps people to help you if you don't start multiple threads on the same topic...):

I'm not worried about the mechanics of swapping the drivetrain - I have the complete donor car. I'm worried about the electronics.
Can the 96 computer be swapped over so I don't have to reprogram? I have the full engine harness if so.
If not, what happens with the following:
1. No EGR on LT4
2. Is the speed sendor the same for manual?
3. Will I break traction control?
4. Can I swap the 8K tach from the 96?
5. Can the ECM be reprogrammed to not throw trans codes?
Are there any obvious questions I'm not asking?
Thanks,
Peter
Just get the 94 computer programmed. The LT4 stock programming is really half assed, so get it tuned regardless of which computer you use.
1. No EGR on LT4
Disable EGR codes in tune.
2. Is the speed sendor the same for manual?
No.
3. Will I break traction control?
No.
4. Can I swap the 8K tach from the 96?
Yes
5. Can the ECM be reprogrammed to not throw trans codes?
Just use an M6 tune.
Just get a mail-order tune for the 94 PCM for an LT4 with M6. ~$100.
I really appreciate it. Do the 94 and 96 PCM's have the same pinout? In other words, can I just use the newer wiring harness? What's a long term solution to the decaying wiring?

Yes the PCMs are a direct interchange. If you put a 94 PCM on a 96 car you lose some OBD2-related functionality, but since you're going in a 94 none of that matters.
The other harness differences you need to consider are:
optispark harness - use the opti harness off the 96
coil/ICM - use coil/ICM same year as harness
Knock sensors - use knock sensors same year as PCM
My own solution to the wiring is that I've just spliced in new wires as needed. Some of the connectors are starting to fall apart too. Keep your extra harness for spare connectors!
for the reply. I was hoping I could keep the 96 computer and wiring harness. I guess I'll just have to disable codes for OBDII stuff the 94 doesn't have?
I'm going to put the Hot Cam in the LT4 before installing it. I'm going to search the forum for a recommendation on a good tune.
