Default Transmission Question (4L60E)

Does anyone know if a 4L60E from a 96 will fit into a 94 and what that might entail? I have heard the electrical connections are different and was not sure if that could be swapped?

Thanks!

To My knowledge and memory, a 4L60E from a 1994 and a 1996 are the same in a Corvette.

Maybe Pete K. will chime in. He is the Auto trans expert here on C4.

The 94 4l60e is a non pwm (pulse width modulated) transmission while the 95s on up are pwm trannies. The torque converter lockup signal and I think the shift signals are modulated to soften the lockup and shifts so the tranny feels smoother. They have the same round connector on the outside but inside the tranny they have different wiring harnesses.

You would need to either mechanically modify the 96 AT to disable the PWM lockup (google - lots of discussion out there of how to do it) or else add the extra PCM wire and use 95 code in your PCM.
