Vented gas cap?

Vented gas cap?
Here's an odd question. Do our cars need a vented gas cap or does one of the lines off the sending unit vent it for us? What I'm wondering is on the high horsepower cars, is there enough venting to allow the fuel pumps to deliver fuel as designed?

I leave my gas cap loose and disconect the line to the evap can at the tank to give it more air.You need atleast a 1/2 line to get enough air into the tank so the pump doesnt starve and start screaming.

The cap is vented, turn it over and look at the valve.
I've never heard of air pressure in the tank being an issue in fuel delivery.

I was just thinking about this topic because I should have had been getting enough fuel to keep my motor from going lean with my previous fuel system but it started running out of gas by 3600 rpm. I now have 2 340 pumps in the tank similar to a zr1 setup. Hopefully this will work better but I am moving a bunch of gas and was wondering if the venting could ultimately limit my pumps performance.
