My experiance with the l98, unplug the maf and it will barely run at all. Almost sounds like fuel problem, fuel pump, filter. Just a guess, need to pull the codes if there are any to rule something else out.
I was thinking about the fuel pump or maybe the injectors, but I'd rather not have to change those unless I have to. I don't really like changing expensive stuff out just for trouble shooting, but I guess I may have to.
And it's not really a miss, it's more like a bog(like it's going to stall or something). It's like with a manual you release the clutch but don't give it enough gas, it bogs heavily, but mine's an automatic.
I may be mistaken, but on your car if the MAF goes bad the MAP sensor takes over. So in other words it should still run well and give a code for the MAF. Any other symptoms.
Get a fuel pressure gauge that attaches to the schrader valve on the fuel rail. Check your pressure at idle and when driving with the above symptoms (tape it to the windshield). If when you go WOT the fuel pressure has a sharp drop and doesn't return quickly then it's a fuel delivery problem. Change the fuel filter and test again etc. :smash:
It could also be a clogged cat if you have ruled out any ignition related problems. What are the temps and any other symptoms? On a 94 a bad MAF sensor should throw a code. Do you know anyone with Autotap to see what's going on? Diagnose the problem before you throw parts at it. :yesnod:
