I've seen several suggestions in a number of threads suggesting that the OP check the fuel pressure while driving. This leads me to believe you can get the fuel pressure to display on the dash. If this is the case, I am/was totally unaware of this functionality. Can you display the fuel pressure? If not, Sorry for the stupid newbie question.
Get a univesal fuel pressure gauge & tape it to the windshield. I was thinking the other day about why efi vehicles do not have a fuel pressure gauge in the gauge cluster, on some of them the engine wont run if the psi is only 5psi below the spec.
So, guess what I was doing yesterday and today....
Trying to trace down a lean exhaust code 44 condition. Just switched out fuel pumps.....20 minute job. All right...Chevy finally did something right when they put the fuel pump in the Corvette.

Good start on tracing the code. I tested my fuel pressure when idling. My mechanic tried chasing it down too and had trouble. He replaced the O2 sensor (a previous owner put an aftermarket one in, so I was happy to go back with AC anyway). Then he was chasing the MAP sensor when I suggested to check the injectors. Found the problem, he put new Delphi injectors in and it runs great. Not sure of your year, but mine is a '90. From your pics it looks like you have a 91 or newer. My guess, if fuel pressure is good, check the injectors.
Check out a company called Prosport, they make gauges and one of them is an electric fuel pressure gauge. A sender mounts on your fuel rail then is wired to the gauge which I put in a pillar pod. I'll get some pics later and post them. The gauge works & looks great.
