According to the Corvette Black Book, the 1993 Corvette was the first auto sold by GM to feature a "Passive Keyless Entry" (PKE) system.

You can order a VKE1000 from Jeff Kopp (Carfan18) that will work on your car..... I priced one that will work on my 86......

I bought the VKE 1000 from local dealer for $99.99 for my 1992 and I added a radio shack (Bulldog) remote start module, made for this unit, to the unit. ($75.00 on sale)
