Default Retrieving error codes for 96 LT4

What is the easiest way to retrieve the error codes for the 96's

Thanks

And the scenario below leads you to believe what is wrong here.

Had car parked in garage for detailing today (no doors or latches left open), went to start car 5 hrs later after I was done and it wouldnt crank, volt guage read 12.8, lights radio worked.
I jumped the battery , started right up volt guage went to 14.3 normal reading, drove , parked at store came out started right up read 14.3 volts, on the way home the guage dropped to 13.9, which made the service engine light flash, then went back to 14.1 again and light went off.

So I made it home and was in the garage and experimented a bit, radio on , radar detector on and door open while running it dropped to 13.7 again, closed door, turned off radar detector and went back to 14.1, repeated the step and the same readings occured.

Car has only 10K miles on , the diehard battery is fairly new connections are clean as a whislte, car never has seen rain so I presume the grounds have no corrosion on them.

I am thinking the battery or the alternator, but if it was the alt not charging the battery would not hold anything.

So any suggestions from the experts out there would be greatly appreciated, I will check on the codes ,

Thanks folks.

my 96 lt4 had similiar electrical issues. it would start fine, but if I worked on it for a couple of hours with the radio on, dead battery. put a charger on it, everythings ok; then the problem would repeat itself. evidentally its possible for a battery to hold enough charge to start the car, but then not have any reserve amp-hour capacity. a new battery solved all problems.

Ya mines acting the opposite, sits with no radio or anything used and it drops to 12.3 wonts start but will play the radio.

Going to just replace the battery.

Thanks

.
FWIW I traced a somewhat similiar problem (no SYS or codes, but fluctuating voltage) to a loose battery terminal connection.......quick snugging with wrench solved problem.....I spent an incredible amount of time before I identified such a simple problem

so mine was clean alright, visually ok, but just slightly loose

Good luck
