Default Stranded

AH well its happened at last ! on the way back from a 250 mile round trip Saturday, I was 5 miles from home and the Vette just stopped!. checked fuel presser, ok but no spark Grrrr. Got the car taken home and on checking yesterday I found the coil is burnt out.
Now the question is ....do you think anything else will have fried or is it just the coil ! is there any point in putting an aftermarket hipo coil in a basically stock engine and if so should I use a hipo ignition module ?
All opinions welcome as this is the 1st time I have had an HEI system go down in 22 years 15 years of owning American cars.

I would stick to the stock coil. I have never had a stock coil go out, but I have had high output coils go.

I don't think anything else would be burned out, but it is a good chance to check the distributor cap and rotor and wires while you are in there.
