I'm doing this mod but today but was wondering if you have to connect these 2 hoses with a t-connect as most people do or can you cap off the slots where the coolant lines originate? Obviously this could block the entire flow of coolant but I'm not sure that it does. If anybody knows please let me know. I'd like to eliminate the hoses all together, but if you can't because of coolant flow then I won't. Thanks!
On my 85...yours may be different, the hose goes into the TB on the drivers side and out the passengers side and ONTO the heater. I connected the two together with a straight pipe and two clamps. You have the LT1 I believe with reverse coolant flow, so I am not sure exactly how yours is connected. Follow the hose and see where it goes .
I have had my TB by passed for years without problems. The best part of this is not having to drain coolant anytime you want to take off the TB.
The hoses could be plugged but you will lose coolant flow into the heater.
Also, it helps to say what year the car is. If you fill out your profile with the vehicle information, you won't have to add the description each time.
you absolutely!!! can remove the coolant from the TB... L98 or LT1
L98 just install a hose connector early LT1 purchase a 1 piece upper radiator hose
late model LT1 has a T block you can bypass.....
Results better atomization due to cooler air temp
if you send me your IAC housing I can eliminate the coolant passages
and leaves a great looking appearance!!!!! un-like leaving the nipples and plugging

That's pretty cool, Admiral. How much do you charge for the IAC housing mods?
Thank you, very much $20.00
I also did this to my LT1
Do you have a spare L98 IAC cover that you can modify & send me? I'll, of course, pay for the cover in addition to the mods. Let me know. Also, send me you address so I can send you a check.
you can eliminate your lines and have heating...
or if you never use you heater.. no short or long term damage
if you did eliminate coolant to your heater core!!! I would plug the heater core to protect
from bug or mice damage... for future USE
