Default For you guys using Hedmen headers

Was wondering if any of you guys have had any problems with leaks near the ball and socket flange?

The reason I'm asking is cause it seems like I've always had a little leak. Even after this new exhaust change, I switched to all stainless bolts/nuts/lock washers and tighten the ****z out of it. Still when its a bit cold out I can see a little smoke coming from those connections.

During this upcoming engine change I'm gonna switch my hedmens out and buy a set of the elite's. Just don't want to run into the same problem as I have now since it does effect the Wideband readings.

I had the Elites .. not the cheap ones. I had to get rid of the the ports are too small for my Fast burn heads.

Can you use some liquid exhaust gasket and cover the ball side?

I have some sort of leak on my Hedmans..have not isolated it yet though. I just know it's not the header gasket.

This is the ball and socket flange of the hedmens. It is possible that the bung that was put in the collector for the WBo2 has a small leak but my guess is its more at the flange location. Just hate to have the same problem when switching to the elites. I'm considering the hookers but know that they can leak as well.

It looks like the bolts are to long and you nuts are bottoming out.

Bolts have been changed since that photo. The ss bolts on there now are shorter and have threads the entire length.
