Another 4+3 OD question
Maybe you guys can help me...I have an 84 4+3...I think the OD had been changed. I assume this because there is no place to attach the TV cable.(I have had the transmission out of the car in the past, so I know the attachment isn't hiding) The TV cable is tied up along the frame. I was wondering if there was any way of distinguishing the year of the OD?

GM eliminated the TV cable in 86. Your OD was changed.
Just disconnect the TV cable and store it away somewhere. I have a couple of big boxes full of stuff I took off (broken or not)...Just in case...

Can't tell the year from the outside and even if you open it up the only thing you can lear then is if the sun and planet gears sizes ar such that you can tell if it's an MK2 or MH5 (0.68 or 0.60 ratio) and MH5 where only used in 87 and 88, but no TV 86 to 88 and they had a extra O/D and direct clutch and plate.
