Default Ecm/pcm flash or chip?

I have an 87 that i have done a few mods to and i was wondering should i have a chip made for the computer to adjust for the mods or should i just have the computer flashed? I am just wondering what is better.

As you note you have a removable chip.
Either the chip gets reprogrammed or you buy a aftermarket tune ( on a chip )
ECM's with chips can't be re-flashed like the later PCM 's with internal memory can be

I just had got my new chip from pcmforless and i got it installed. They tell me i have to set the TPS and the IAC now back to factory specs. Is there a way to do this without having to take to a mechanic and hook up to a scanner?

Got a DVM ?

Did they give you a idle rpm to adjust to?

I do have a DVM. Yes they recommend 700 rpm at idle. I will try that link you have on your post. I don't want to sound stupid but i am new at this and i want to do this right so i need to know where the IAC plug is? I know where the TPS is.

Its the square 4 pin plug under the TPS plug. The TPS socket points towards the front whereas the IAC socket points towards the passenger side
