If this is the round bushing that clamps the rack to the frame,It either slips on from the side of the rack or IF it is cut then you stretch it over the rack where it mounts, kinda like a sway bar mount bushing.
Like Jon said, need more info about the bushing etc.
It looks like you have to remove the entire rack to put it on.
I was waiting to do mine when the rack needs replacing.
Don't want to take it out twice.
Are these pieces the Energy Susp. poly units? That is what i have
and like i said ,I ll wait for now.
Matt
Yeah, they're the energy suspension ones. I had an fluid leak, and the originals were all oil soaked. It was impossible to get over the boot, so I managed to remove the boot by removing the tie rod end and get it on there. Even managed to reuse the clamp.
I had the rack on the bench, but as far as replacing this bushing in the car, It could be possible. The other one however, don't see how you could do it in the car since you have to press the old bushing out.
The pictures I've seen of new (rebuilt) racks already have the bushings installed. Though i dont know if they're poly or not.
I wonder where everyone is getting their racks at??
I have fluid leaks too, just have not found the culprit yet, manifold, oil
pan timing cover,who knows!!!!
I am living with them for now

Im just replacing the bushings on my existing rack. But, if I were to get one, I'd get it from Vette Brakes and Products.
Mine was leaking from the resovior hose.
Best thing to do is get under there with some rags and or simple green and or whatever and start cleaning up.. you'll find the leak sooner or later.
Although ive never actually tried it, but i've heard you can add some stuff to the oil, then find the leak with a florocent lamp. Someone else will have to explain this method more.
I've heard of the light thing before, basically it is like a "black light"
that you see out at the clubs. But not sure where you can pick it
up.Now you making me feel lazy and i might have to clean that
crossmember up a little!! :yesnod:
