Well I finished my installation of the Side Effects Exhaust last night and boy do these things sound great! They are installed behind a pair of gutted cat, which you can tell are empty now. I did purchace the rear cut out fillers (which fill the muffler holes on the rear bumper) and they look good. I'l try to take some snap shots of them this weekend for those interested. As far as performance goes I think the gain is minimal, though the sound and look justifies the expense.
On another note, since I cannot fit into my GF driveway anymore due to clearance loss (about 1.5 inches, I had problems with her drive prior to installation) my car got hit this morning by the neighboor backing out of her driveway. Damage isn't bad, she didn't do more than put a nice long scrape down my driver's side door. Oh well, she was nice!
HOWSER,
Glad to see you got it going...sad to hear about the scratch. Did you have any difficulties lining everything up? I kinda skipped installing the rear jack plates...can't get a jack under the car now anyways! (Except the worthless scissor-jack in the car.) Where I was once considering lowering the car, I'm kinda scared now, due to clearance...
I love you guys' side exhaust. I WISH YOU COULD COUGH UP MORE PICS! (especially from the rear) I would love to do this, but I am afraid it would look kind of goofy with no exhaust in the rear.
I had a few difficulties, nothing I couldn't figure out. One side of the exhaust sticks out about 1/2 a centimeter than the other (exhaust port), but it is centered inside of the rocker cover real well. I did do this by myself, having another person help out would have been great. It seamed that most of my problems were associated with removing my old exhaust. It was either stuck on or studs broke off in my cat! Oh well, all done now. I couldn't imagine lowering the car now, too much clearance has been lost.
