Default Tire pressure sensors

HELP!!! Tire shop knocked 1 of the sensors off but we reattached it and hoped?? I have 2 questions:

1. If the wheels are mixed and the rt. frt. ends up on the left frt. will the sensor read??

2. Since they are color coded for the wheel location, will the sensor read in a different place on the car??

I have gotten several versions of this but still not clear on directional/ placement effect if wheels get moved around the tires are running in correct rotation.

Thanks for any help,

Gene in Fl.

As far as I know I dont think it matters what position they are in. When my light turns on I dont have any info of what corner the low tire is on, just a low tire. As for direction I think that is just for tires. Mabe someone here will give a more "technical" explanation.

To the best of my knowledge the sensors are wheel specific... red L-front blue another corner and so on.
I would be real leery of one that was 'knocked loose" and then reattached. I had a real bad experience years ago when a tire shop put on 4 new Goodyear's and banged one of my front sensors. The next day and 200 miles later I was driving north on Hwy 1 just north of the Hearst Castle driving way too fast when one came loose in a high speed corner in the right front. It was exciting to say the least! Too this day I don't know how I kept the car, the wife, and I from going into the pacific ocean. I had to put on the spare to make it home. I have never used them again on either set of my wheels.
