Do they really help with resonating noise? I am putting my exhaust on know so it would be easy to do.
Next question is about Corsa mufflers. Does anyone have a model number or the name of the mufflers that come with the LT-1 systems. Can they be purchased by themself and where is the best place to get one , thanks!
I had some welded inside the header collectors on my 95 LT1 Camaro. I think they were from Dynatech. I never ran it without them but from what I've read it helps keep the bad exhaust noises at bay, like the weird backflow noise you get between shifts. Still pretty loud with Flowmaster race mufflers and dumped before rear axle, but didn't keep me from driving everyday.
I have a set of cones for a B&B system, but I never got around to having them welded in, so I can't tell you how much it might help. I've since removed the B&B from the car, and it's for sale. I've installed a Corsa system to replace it. Here are the Corsa muffler numbers for LT1 C4s:
Passenger's side: 16CX2003
Driver's side: 16CX2005
I do not know if Corsa will sell the mufflers separately, or if they require you to buy the full cat-back system. I'm sure a quick phone call to them will get you an answer. I can say that I'm very happy with the sound of their cat-back system on my LT1 car. Zero resonance.
