Default If you need help with accel dfi.......

If anybody on here needs any help with issues with their DFI or has questions I found a source. email or instant message me for more information if you need help and I can tell you how I did it. My car is like an entirely different beast after getting some assistance with the tune.

Haven't heard of this before. Do many C4 owners change over their FI to this?

I don't know how many have switched over to dfi. I know there are a handful of them as I have watched the threads on this board before.

Based on the few threads and lack of response to posts I would guess that a few do but it is not common.

I got fed up with the stock 85 ECM and was facing well over $600 for the Bosche burn off module and new MAF and decided the money would be better spent on an upgrade.

So it's not a MAF system! Is it sequential injection too rather than batch?

No it is MAT based. It can handle throttle body, batch or sequential. It also interfaces with 11 different ignition systems. Very flexible.

I presume you mean MAP! Does one need a new pressure sensor in the inlet manifold? What about tuning? Does one have to buy that also?

Mine is not MAF. Mine is MAP based. I am currently running bank to bank fire with a small cap hei, but next spring will switch over to sequential fire. I need to install a different distributor, or add a cam and crank sensor. The Gen 7 handles all of this. Very versatile system.

Yes MAP is correct. It does use a MAT but adds the MAP in place of the MAF. (dang acronyms!!) The new sensor is mounted external and just has a vacuum line to the plenum.

You tune this yourself or you can pay a shop with a dyno to tune it for you. The software is not difficult and getting the tuning "close" just takes some time. A wide band O2 sensor is very useful. I did not use the Accel wide band because it was too expensive and went with an Innovate LC-1 instead.

I got the Gen 7 upgrade to 6.5 and now I can use any operating system to tune it and it's USB instead of data port only !

Made all the difference in the world getting the upgrade and they load your tune back in it and make sure it works on a similar vehicle.

It's costly but it allows storing different tunes under different conditions like passing emissions or blown or up to three stages Nitrous !

It even controls my converter ! Nice !
