Have a 95 LT4 with 4L60E and the starter is still starting the car but has a Bang noise now when the engine fires, Always started before this on 1st click, Have a high torque starter now, but not sure how old it is. Who do I buy from now? wanting American made and at a good value. (Vendor on Here?)

I would recommend PowerMaster. I have used their products and they make quality stuff and stand behind their products. Definitely two or three steps above what you get at the local parts stores. Summit and Jegs carry them or you can order directly from them. You will not regret using their products.

Check with RichieRichZ06 @ Abel Chevrolet, he should be able to hook you up with an OEM starter for a decent price. I installed one in my 78 Corvette and it works great.

Found the two starter bolts both were loose. Will check in a few miles to see if they stay tight! Dodge a bullet on this one

make sure you have the factory bolts; the factory bolts have knurling on the shank to prevent loosening or backing out.

Im not sure if they make a lightweight starter, but may want to check at summit.
