On an '85-89 MAF TPI to carb swap, is the ECM completely bypassed? Or does it need to be connected to the sensors? Without the ECM, how does that affect the digital guages and the VATS?
I know some people have done the swap and am looking for some insight. Also, if an aftermarket fuel injection system like a DFI is used, how do you piggyback that PCM to the factory ECM? Any insight or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.:)
Don't know about the DFI questions, but the carb.......well I left my puter connected, for the lock up feature. Well, that didnt work so I didnt use fourth gear until I installed a switch to manually lock it up. Everything else worked (guages) except for the fuel mileage crap.
