Have a 1987 corvette and in search of upper steering column bearing. Any one have an idea where to find one? Tried local parts supplier no sale. Bearing fell apart resulted in loose steering. Bearing fits into pivot pin assembly below the turn signal and housing
Got a e-mail from Texas and says same part fits a Silverado from 78 thru96. Will try that. However if the snap wring came out perhaps that may not be the original cause of loose steering wheel in which was trying to repair. Interesting!

Reason: more info
usually on a loose steering wheel , there are 4 screws , three of which are easy to get at thru the turnsignal switch, the fourth is a pain, tighten those and that usually fixes the loosness. tighten one to hold it in place and then remove and put locktite on the others
Found a bearing kit from Ecklers for $73.00. Came with two bearings. Looks like a have an extra. Seems like from pulling on steering wheel for years trashed the bearing. Putting together now, the 4 bolts below pivot assembly is tite. I think someone has been in their before
