Default Electronic climate control problem

Please Help Me!! I have a 88 corvette with the electronic climate control unit.when the ignition is on and car not running display comes on but the blower or anything comes on,but when you crank the car the unit goes off. When i am driving the car it flickers on and off but no compressor, blower motor, or anything that is associated with the heater/ac comes on.I have tested blower motor and compressor by connecting them to battery. The blower Motor comes on and compressor clutch kicks in then.Could low refrigerant be a part of the the problem, or vacum lines

Any help or Suggestions appreciated!!!

Clean all the connections. Use a magnifying glass to look for any corrosion.

Do you know where the old clutch ball location on the engine is on older Chevvies?
They put a large bolt in that hole, and tied the engine grounds to it.

Another way to find it is to open the hood, and look down near the oil filter. it is just rearward and above the oil temp sender and oil filter boss on the block. You can see the ground strap going to the frame in that area.
