Headlight Motor Trouble
Hi,
I am having a terrible time getting my headlights/motors back together on my 92 LT1. First it was discovering a cracked headlamp purchased new right out of the box, 2nd the nylon gear would not go back in the gear housing bushing and engage the worm gear on one of the motors, 3rd I broke-off one of the screws connecting the motor to the drive housing and 4th both of the high beam wires (green) had broke off at the 3 prong connector.
For now I will reuse one of the old headlamps and return the cracked headlamp to Autozone 80 miles round trip, able to get the nylon gear inserted in the gear housing bushing, drilled out/retapped the motor to drive housing thread and repaired both of the high beam connections.
On top of this I lost one of the motor brush springs.
Anyone know where I can pick one up?
I have been out of work for 22 months now and need my car to go fill out some job papers/drug screen to complete a job offer.
I need this happening in my life right now!

If it turns out you are really stuck for the spring, you could leave the motor disconnected and rotate the headlight out by hand with the ****. I know this is a lousy solution, but it keeps you rolling temporarily.
