stop lites dont work?????

stop lites dont work?????
IM WONDERING IF THIS IS COMMON TO 85VETTES! I checked power to and from brake lite switch and emerg flashers work ,blinkers ,parklites also work. Stop lites were working. WTF?

Hazards which are working use same fuse as stop
As those lights are working and you have power out of brake switch then only thing left is the column switch mech itself

It goes from the brake light switch thur the turn signal switch. I would bet the turn signal switch is your problem. It wouldn't be the first time I have seen a bad turn signal switch make the brake lights not work.

WOW!! You guys are good! Thanks vetteoz, that w/diagram made it easy.You nailed it!! It was the white wire in the turn signal switch plug at the steering column. I had no stoplites for awhile and it was really buggin me. GOT THEM NOW. Thanks again, Tom
