...Wonder what that green thing is near the windshield...
That was the box of sandwhich bags to put every nut/bolt/washer/wahtever into.:)
... ...
What I've been doing, is use the flat box that soda cans come with and punching the bolts/screws through the cardboard, in the correct sequence/layout of the car area...You end up with a 3D schematic of where everything goes...And some labels & arrows, too...
I sure wish GM would have decided whether they wanted Yankee or Metric and changed over all at once! I've spent more on Metric sockets & wrenches, Torx drivers, and Metric nut drivers than I did for parts! :yesnod:
Scorp,
One other thing. If you have a saw around you might want to remove that tree that is growing out of your engine. It might be slowing you down a bit and putting added strain on your new trans.
In all seriousness you have more guts than I do. I had mine up on a lift a while back and was standing under it. After looking at who everything was I opted to wait till I get the a vigilante converter before ripping it apart. I wish you the best of luck.

My 4+3 OD failed after 25,000 easy, original miles. That was two years ago.
I pulled the OD and had s&K speed rebuild it. They did a great job. I reassembled the car leaving the stock clutch. I figured that a 25,000 mile clutch should still be ok. 8,000 miles later my pressure plate diaphram spring cracked and I had to pull the trans again. I posted the clutch replacment pictures here: http://www.rbartick.com/vetwork/clutch.html
I sold the 85 shortly after replacing the clutch (and painting the car and rebuilding the AC system) and upgraded to the car in my sig.
