Default Enrichment Question

'87 A4 using autoprom and tuner pro 32B xdf , and LM2 wide band ... got the open loop hot warm-up set at 300 sec so I can drive a little and evaluate AFR's and I'm experiencing high , lean lambda readings ( 1.20 - 1.50 ) on light acceleration with noticeable hesitation ... like when pulling away from a stop ... if I stick my foot in it to WOT areas , AFR drops into the low .80's and the car moves out ... I played a bit with Open loop vs load but then the AFR goes way rich at higher speeds , and medium loads ... like interstate stuff ... adjustments to AE vs LV8 didn't work either ... where to adjust to overcome this ?

Is this a stock motor or has it been modified and this is the first tune on the modified engine?

How does it idle?
How does it run at a steady state and load?
What do the BLM's look like at a steady state?

Not stock ... MANY mods ... this is the re-tune for a new camshaft ... specs didn't change dramatically , but the tune has ... biggest single difference is the 113 LSA new vs 110 LSA old ... I also changed injectors , more to lower the operating pressure than performance , but for perf too !

Idle is fine , but it has always taken about 15 seconds to settle down to commanded rpm ... in the meantime its rich .88 - .92 then as the rpm's settle it leans to .97 - 1.00

Runs fine at a steady state and load ... lambda varies slightly in all op ranges , but at steady its between .96 and 1.03 ... open loop ... closed runs .99 - 1.08 .... 55mph or less

I haven't really focused on BLM 's , spending time watching load #'s and AFR

I don't know, sure seems like the Accell Enrichment vs lv8 is the table

Do you have anything weird in the Minimum Delta lv8 for Accel Enrichment
or the Minimum Delta% TPS for Accell Enrich

my accell enrich vs lv8

looks like this:

lv8 Factor
256 12.89
192 12.50
128 12.11
64 10.94
0 9.38

Is the wideband mounted in the exhaust or clipped on the tail pipe

Wide band is in the pass side collector ... no leaks

Min LV8 for enrich is set at 20

min TPS for enrich was 4% now at 2%

Wow ... my AE vs LV8 is ...

256 ... 1.00 was 0.20 OEM
192 ... 1.00 was 0.20
128 ... 1.00 was 0.16
64 ... 0.50 was 0.12
0 ... 0.50 was 0.12
And I thought a five-fold increase was a big swing ... I'll try your settings and see what happens ... with the old cam ... same 230-236 duration ... I was seeing starting line AE AFR's in the 9.0 - 10.0 range and would hesitate for .2 sec ... terrible reaction times and 60 footers not to mention the ET's ..... Wednesday I'll get some WOT numbers

I,ve been told that the early computers had a flood setting on hard acceleration to cool the catalytic converter ... I don't have any cats now . Is this true ?

My combo is 409 sbc , forged dished pistons , AFR 195 street Eliminators 64 cc , roughly 10:1 compression , First tuned Port intake , gutted MAF , Hooker 1 3/4 " Long tubes , Comp Cams 280 XFI , MSD , and FIC Bosch III's 38 lbs/hr injectors currently set at 50 psi ... the last cam was Comp Extreme Energy XR 282 HR

OK ... So , Tuner Pro won't accept any values more than 1.00 in AE vs Lv8 ... ??? ... I can drop it to 0.anything , but no higher than 1.00 ... ...
