Car has just come out of storage and my "Service Engine Light" came on and has stayed on. After running the diagnostic it shows code 36 MAF sensor relay problem or "burnoff"
Any help....

Re: Code 36 89 C4 (mpresley46)
Usually the burn off relay behind the battery. Actually you will see two relays on the firewall behind the battery. The MAF burnoff relay is the one farthest toward the drivers side. I would replace both, but that's just me.
Best to use Jeff Koop or a local dealer to get the part. It's not expensive, but the specs have changed over the years. I would not trust a general cheapo supply house to provide the correct relay.
Hey there, I took my 89 out of storage in 99 and had the same problems. I replaced the burn-off relays and the MAF. Still the same thing! It turned out that the ECM/CCM was bad. Eventually, had to take it to the dealer to get it fixed properly. 2 1/2 years later, runs better than new. Let us know how it turns out. Good luck.
thanx for the replies. I got a relay from the dealer but they only had one. Had the tech come and take a look and he seems to be under the impression that only one goes bad?.. anyway will replace tommorrow and clear the codes hopefully this will solve...If not :boxing
