Default How hot should ?

How hot should my LT1 get in stop and go traffic or at idle (for several minutes)? Outside Temp about 70 degrees.

Stock will probably go north of 230*.

If you turn the AC on, the fans will kick in sooner and drop the temp closer to your 180* thermostat.

Doesn't that 230* just bother you!!!!! It's normal, but too high for me!

You're kidding.. 230 is normal!!!?? I'm freaking out when it starts going over 205. And having a heart attack at 220. :D

I've never seen more that 215-220 or so and that's after 3 or 4 runs on the autocross course! Even track days don't sent temps above that.

But turning on the A/C is the quickest way of dropping the temp!

Yep, all corvettes run that hot for emissions standards.

Installing a 160 or 180 thermostat and gettin the Hypertech PP to set your fans on earlier will fix it, along with cleaning the front of your radiator.

I've seen 230 sitting in 80 degree weather and typical Florida traffic. I just flick on teh A/C and watch the temp drop. It will hover around 210 until you get moving than it goes back to normal which for me is about 190-195.

My normal coolant temp is right around 200. My fans are set to come on at 200 and turn off at 194.
