So help me out. The LT4 springs are $39 while the springs from comp cam made for the 1.6 rr swap are $194. What could make the comp cam springs worth so much more

Merely looking at valve springs won't help you understand the difference but everything about the quality of Comp's springs far exceeds the LT4 springs. Everything from the initial design the engineers and metallurgists created to the recipe of the wire through the quality control testing, etc. has an associated cost to the company.

Everything done along the way, from design to delivery in order to provide the end user with the best spring for the job, adds to the cost of the finished product. All this is reflected in the selling price.

To get a more detailed explanation on what Comp does you should read the info in their latest catalog. Eye-Opening info.

My advice, don't buy cheap springs.
