Default 700r4: Too much output shaft end play?

I'm overhauling my 1985 th700r4. The front end play is .018" (should be between .005" - .035"). The output shaft can be moved .033" (in-out) - is that OK ? Couldn't find any data for that. I made changes to the rear section: I replaced the 4-pinion planetarys with the 5-pinions; the front planetary came with a bearing-type hub (Torque Master kit), so I didn't install the brass thrust washer on the sunshell. The original shell is replaced by "The Beast"; it had it's own rear plastic thrust washer, so the one that was sitting on the sprag race, is left out. I also left out the black washer between the forward planetary and forward sprag, because I changed the old 26-element unit to the new 29-element unit, which includes the input sun gear.
