Default 94 clutch question...MAJOR chattering

I have both main seals on my motor leaking which is being fixed now. I also had a power steering leak. So all this oil was pouring all over my bell housing/trany. Problem is, about 30k miles ago I had the clutch and flywheel replaced ( original lasted 150k) and the guy never put the guard back on. I am wondering if all my chattering could be because of it being oil soaked. Reverse is horrible like unusable. I am removing my motor for some work and will have the transmission out as well. I will see whats going on once its out but has anyone ever had an oil soaked clutch/flywheel problem? I am just trying to eliminate some things here

Chattering and/or grabbing are classic signs of an oil-soaked clutch plate.

Didn't I read some time ago that the chattering started after your clutch/flywheel replacement?

yes because before the replacement, the bellhousing had the guard on it keeping all that oil out. Now the guard is gone and its got sooo much oil and crap all over it.

The shield mainly keeps road debris out. If the rear main seal is bad the oil would be inside the shield.

it also could be from the type of clutch you replaced the other with....I once had a RAM "puck" type disc and it chattered extremely bad in reverse shaking the whole car violently......the one I have now chatters but not as bad (SPEC stage 2); also I am running a Fidanza aluminum FW....doesn't help much either....

I am running a stage 2 clutch and a stock used flywheel. I had a fidanza but it was horrible.

Did it start chattering immediately after the clutch change or did it start after a while when the disk might have gotten oil on it?

I think it started a little after the install. I dont know if its bad installation or what because the guy that did my clutch/flywheel did my rear end 4.11 gears and those things whine like my brother.
