Default Can't Believe This

I've had a problem where the temperature gets up to 212 degrees and the fan comes on , the engine will start spuddering and die. I looked everywhere for the problem (no codes) tried everything I could think of and nothing healed the problem. Last night as a starting point I put on a new temp sensor and to my amazement the problem went away.
Has anyone ever experienced the same problem?
Is there anything else I should look for?
Thanks in advance.

It makes sense as a starting point to verify the problem. Sounds like you started at the right spot. I've not ever heard of this before. I am curious what effect a bad temp sender has on the computer.

I've had a problem very similar to that, except the connector that went on the ECT sensor went bad and my engine would sputter and die ALLL the time! It took forEVER to figure out that's what it was.
