Default NoCat?

Ok I got my new cat in and i am waiting to gut the precats before I put everything together and back in the car. I wanted to know if its ok or if it would hurt the car to start it as it sets (without y-pipe, cat, 02 Sensor, or pretty much the whole exhaust system? I dont see it hurting anything other then it running rough without the 02 sensor, am I right? also i dont plan on driving it as is, just start it for a couple of minutes.

long story short open manifolds with no 02 sensor

Shouldn't hurt, but with the open exhaust and no O2 sensor, you will probably see codes for the O2 sensor and possibly a knock sensor code. It may not run real rough other having than no back pressure; the O2 sensor is just looking for heat from the exhaust so the input from it will tell the ECM to go into closed loop.

Ears may ring for a bit....

Thank you guys for input, I to figured it shoudnt hurt anything at idle (idle was plenty loud enough for what I wanted to show), reason I was asking is because my mother works here at nasa as a language instructor (russian) and I have meet and am friends with many austronauts and cosmanots (have no idea how thats spelled ) but anyways we invited some russian for thanksgiving and they have never been exposed to true American muscle cars so I figured if I show em I should open up the manifolds an ill tell you when that sucker fired up they took damn near 10 steps back id upload the video but its crappy quality.

Just use a coat hangar to position the oxygen sensor in the exhaust stream, and it will be representative of how it will run. Just don't get too much of the sensor in the exhaust stream, just the tip.
