With the great help (as usual) from Agent 86 and c4 cruiser I have determined that my ecm in my 88 must be the problem of my main cooling fan not coming on. Therefore I was thinking of having it rebuilt by ZIP products for 95.95. Am I ok with this decision. Your input would be great. Thanks.
Gives you a long list of GM vehicles that used the 165 ECM. You can pick one up for not much money at any salvage yard, put your chip in it and go. Most salvage yards will replace any ECM that doesn't work. I am running one that came from a 4 cyl S-10, cost me $30.00. Granted the ZIP rebuild will be a sure thing but at 3X the cost.
