I would like to dissable the passanger airbag in my 95 convertible so that from time to time I may take my girl's out for a spine around the block. I've heard that you can pull a fuse and that will disable both airbags. Does anyone know which fuse to pull (diagram of fuse box would be helpfull), because there are two fuses for the airbags, one reads #9 Crank Air Bag(5A) and the second reads #34 Air Bag(15A). Do I pull Both or only one and will the car show a trouble light for the air bags being off.
I was asked this question today... My brother in law is looking at used C4's and he would like to take his little boy out cruisin'. How do you disable the passenger side air bag
GM actually makes a kit that will allow you to disable the passenger airbag with a key, as in newer cars. It is around $300. Go to http://www.nhtsa.gov and click on Airbags. They have a list of all kits for all cars and authorized installation shops. There is also a form you must sign and send to them.

If you pulled those fuses the car may crank but won't run. On the 1991 wiring.. the Power for the ECM cand Fuel Pump came from the DERM module for the Airbag.
Would like to no if the ecm fuse is the one that disables the airbags
There is NOT a simple disable. There was a switch kit available that enabled the ON/OFF select of the passenger SIR but the package is a very hard find. VERY HARD -
What you could do is unplug the SIR and substitute a 2Ω resistor for the connection and it will keep the SIR lights out on the DIC and of course the SIR is non-functional.
There are ways to actually "switch" the SIR but it's generally only done in handicapped vehicles for seat modifications or fleet/COP cars that require the SIR to be defeated.
I sent a fellow one time to a facility to do it and I don't believe he liked the price. I don't know if he did it or not. That was many years ago.
The 2Ω resistor is used frequently to turn off the SIR/DIC lights when changing steering wheels.
