I'm in need of a new cap/rotor. MAD sells the factory AC Delco Cap/Rotor for $16.99, and they also sell an Accel high-perf cap/rotor for $28. Does is make a difference which one to go with?

Re: Distributor Cap/Rotor Replacement (FlyboyZR1)
Last Delco cap I bought for the Corvette was a really lousy casting. Looked like it would carbon track in no time. I returned it. If you would have asked me this a year ago I would have said go with the Delco cap, but this cap was really not well made.
Last Accel cap I bought was a really nice casting. Clean and smooth, good contacts as well. I think it was worth the extra cost.
I've had bad luck with Accell caps. 3 caps with premature corroded terms.
I run an MSD cap and rotor. On my 89, I had to mod the cap from the spring loaded "L" hold down to a screw down cap. MSD doesn't make screw down caps for my year dist.
Flyboy;
Stay with Delco for a stock application. HEI is one system GM got right, before they started the OPTICRAP. I just changed my cap and rotor on our
L98, 90 Droptop, runs like a champ!
Good Luck

Re: Distributor Cap/Rotor Replacement (89 Paul in cal)
Delco or MSD depending on the application. MSD makes a good product, I've used their Distributors and they are a precision piece, well worth the money.
