Default 88 hood adjustment

I have an 88 and the hood is rubbing at the door edge. Is there any way of adjusting the hood rather than the door?

How does the hood fit at the front, at the bumper? If the fit there is good, you probably shouldn't move the hood.

IMO you should not do anything that reduces that gap.

I'll try moving the door. It's not rubbing by much

Maybe raise the rear of the hood a little? Be careful though as too much hood adjustment can make it difficult to open.

I believe you adjust the hood via the latch on the hood. And there are some rubber bumpers you can turn in and out that are located on the hood latch. I'd try unscrewing the rubber bumper which should leave the hood sitting a little higher. Then I'd guess you'd need to check if it still latches properly as that may need to be adjusted too.

Be careful not to make the latches too tight or you could break a release cable, then you will have bigger problems.

Well I moved the latches and now I can't get the #!** hood open. I seen on the forum theres a hood tool for this problem. Are they available at local parts stores?

Try to pull up on the hood while you pull the release. Sometimes that works.
