Default Injectors - Stopping Fuel Flow!!

Hi guys,

I'm right in the middle of replacing my injectors, the only problem I have is that I cannot stop fuel from pouring out of the flow pipe that runs to the fuel regulator at the rails.

Obviously this is a major fire hazard that I don't want to get into trouble with, I'm trying to think of what I can use to plug the metal fuel line, but at the same time without causing any damage.

Any ideas?

Many thanks.

Thanks Jon,

I had to take apart the fuel rail, unscrew one side from the other as I didn't want to remove the left hand intake runner as alot of stuff would need to come off for that, so may need some new O rings for that one.

Yes I did, but I thought it only had O rings for the injectors. So I should find some for the pipe that connects one rail to the other then? Also will there be one in there for the cold start injector?

I've not opened the package yet as it's at the depot to be delivered here on Monday.

It's good to replace the o-rings on the rail if they are original, and to also replace the o-rings on the fuel lines that unbolt from the rail.

What I did was got a piece of fuel hose and connected both the metal fuel lines together. That way if fuel flowed, it wouldn't leak out.

The injectors have the o ring already on, there is a small package of o rings in the kit that contains what you need for the crossover tubes

Cool thanks. What do you reccomend I do to ensure surfaces are clean and have any old gasket remains removed and are ready for the new gasket? Also do I need to apply anything on the surface or the gasket? Is it just a case of put the gasket in place and do the bolts up?

I used brake cleaner on a wrag to clean the fuel injector ports in the intake manifold and the gasket mounting surfaces on the runners and plenum. They have a gasket removal spray you can get to help soften the gasket to make it easier to remove. It is real easy to scratch things when you are scraping.

I didn't put anything on the gasket. They have retainer clips to keep the gasket in place during installation. I used Vasoline on the o-rings.
